G Burns Jug Band will celebrate the release of their second full-length CD, The Southern Pacific and the Sante Fe, at the Black Cat Bar on Saturday, July 4. Fittingly, the evening's soundtrack provided by the band will be one of traditional, vibrant American music.
G Burns Jug Band consists of Clinton Davis (guitar, tenor banjo, fiddle, mandolin), Anders Larsson (washboard), Batya MacAdam-Somer (fiddle), Jonathan Piper (tuba, jug), and Meghann Welsh (accordion, tenor banjo). The evening's bill also includes Creature & the Woods, and there's a reliable rumor circulating that pie will be included in the event's offerings.
